The Valley of Vision
When you lead me to the valley of vision,
I can see you in the heights.
And though my humbling wouldn't be my decision,
It's here Your glory shines so bright.
So let me learn that the cross preceeds the crown,
To be low is to be high,
That the valley's where You make me more like Christ.
Let me find Your grace in the valley.
Let me find Your life in my death.
Let me find Your joy in my sorrow,
Your wealth in my need,
That You're near with every breath-
In the valley.
In the daytime there are stars in the heavens,
But they only shine at night.
And the deeper that I go into darkness
The more I see their radiant light.
So let me learn that my losses are my gains,
To be broken is to heal,
That the valley's where your power is revealed.
Let me find Your grace in the valley.
Let me find Your life in my death.
Let me find Your joy in my sorrow,
Your wealth in my need,
That You're near with every breath-
In the valley.
Let me find Your joy in my sorrow,
Your wealth in my need,
That You're near with every breath-
In the valley.
I see God's hand in my life so clearly. He is carefully and surely leading me with it. When I originally said I would hold His hand and let Him lead me I don't think I had any idea of where we would be going. Now that He is leading me into a valley I can look up and see Him there, wisely working, caring, loving. I have no doubts about His leadership in my life and I trust Him even though each step is looking more and more scary. It's His hand leading me, praise Him I'm not here on my own. I feel the despair wrapping around me but He won't let me sit in it without reminding me with a simple squeeze of His hand that He is still here and that He can see where we're going even though I cannot. And just as that squeeze reminds me of His presence, it reminds me that I am not the one with the strength to fight this. As a matter of fact, it reminds me that I am so very weak on my own, and no matter how hard I kick and wrestle around, my efforts against any of this are worthless without His divine touch. It's time to stop trying to wriggle around and instead, simply walk in the path He has gone before me to create. It will look scary and it will feel bad. But I will remember that to be broken is to heal- that this valley is where He will make me more like Christ.
Father I trust You. Lead me where You will and by Your strength I will follow. Thank you for loving me and never letting go.
