My Cup Runneth Over
I just got these cards in the mail. They were from some of the kids in the Kids' Choir I work with. They wrote them by themselves. They were thank you cards for all the hard work I put into working with them (that I pitifully imagine goes unnoticed). They were written in their own handwriting and had pictures of their smiling faces on the front. It was so great it made me cry. It's so easy sometimes to think on what I don't have that I forget the blessings of what I do have. I used to shake my head at those people who didn't have any children of their own but worked with kids at church and would say things like, "I don't have any children, but I love these kids like my children." How stupid was I. Now here I am with no children but those I work with at church. I never knew you could love kids as much as this when they're not your own. This is yet more daily assurance as I follow step-by-step that God truly does know what He's doing.
"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures,
He leadeth me beside the still waters,
He restoreth my soul." Ps 23:2-3
