commentary on the other gender
Well it's not often that I indulge myself in commentary on men because usually they're too boring as a whole to say anything about. However I've run into an interesting phenomenon in the past couple weeks that has piqued my curiousity. Now I'm totally going off what I have been told, but men are supposedly into looks, right? Then why is it when you change your appearance, it takes them weeks to notice? Not that I really care at all if people say anything or not, but here is the perfect example and yes, the very instance that has made me wonder about such nonsense. I got my hair highlighted almost a month ago. Since my hair is very dark, and the highlights are very blonde, the whole deal is fairly noticeable. The reason I did this was not to attract people's attention to my hair. It was mainly because I wanted to be summery. All my girlfriends of course right away are like oh you did your hair I like it blah blah BLAH. But now its seriously like 3 or 4 weeks later and all of a sudden, the men speak up. It's been like 3 guys that have said something in the last week. One of my bosses just said something and in fact it was pretty funny. I work outside a line of offices and he happens to work in the last office. He emerges from his office and starts walking down the aisle and just as he walks past me, without breaking stride, he points the cheesy gun point and says, "You got your hair highlighted," obviously with quite a bit of pride at his noticing. The look of complete amusement on my face must have been disconcerting for him because he stops in his tracks after passing me and turns around asking, "What???" I told him I've had them for like 3 weeks now to which he exused himself by saying, "Well when was the last time I was in the office to notice?" Yesterday dude... yesterday.
